This is probably doing the rounds of corporate email the world over, but in case you miss it, the following arrived at DMfM Headquarters today:

And that is the only mention I'm going to make, of Dubya's latest victory in the War On Re-Election.
Update
It would seem that the gentleman in the "After" picture is not as well-known in the US as I had thought. He is the opera singer Luciano Pavarotti.
Pavarotti isn't well-known in the US? That makes me very, very sad. I'm moving.
Posted by: Jess on December 17, 2003 07:07 PMi'm pretty sure pavarotti is very well-known in the states -- the three tenors onslaught in the early 90s was that decade's equivalent of having andrea bocelli shoved down our throats in the 00s. plus, pavarotti just married his personal assistant, so he's been in all the papers in the past week or so. pictures and all. sure, not everyone in the states can probably recognize him, but i'd be willing to bet that the same holds true for the population of europe.
Posted by: melanie on December 19, 2003 07:51 AMWell, I wasn't going to explain who the lower picture was, as I assumed that most Americans would know. However, my American roommate - who's very well-read, and a real Europhile, well.. perhaps Anglophile - didn't recognise Pavarotti.
She knows who Pavarotti is, but she didn't recognise him from the picture. Which is why I added the explanation.
